The biggest tip that when making this recipe is to have all the ingredients and equipment ready to go before you start. As mentioned above, this recipe comes together very quickly and being prepared will help you out tremendously.

Ingredients Required

  • semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • sweetened condensed milk
  • unsalted butter

Equipment Required

Instructions

The first step in making this fudge is to get parchment paper in your baking dish. We use an 8 x 8 dish for this recipe so that we end up with thick pieces of fudge.

Once your pan is prepared, add the all ingredients to a medium saucepan.

However, if you prefer thinner pieces, you can use a 9 x 11 baking dish instead. However, regardless of the pan we find it crucial to line the pan with parchment paper.

This makes it extremely easy to pull the fudge out of the pan for easy cutting after it has hardened. However the key to this step is to line the dish with parchment paper overlapping the edges of the dish.

Then set the dish aside and now you are ready to make the fudge!

Add all the ingredients in a medium sauce pan over medium-low heat. Stir frequently until the butter and chocolate chips have completely melted.

stirring chocolate
Stir the mixture frequently over medium-low heat until everything melts.

Once the easy fudge mixture is nice and smooth, quickly pour it into the prepared pan. Now using a silicone spatula, smooth it out as much as possible, pushing it into the corners as best you can.

The top will not be completely smooth, and that is okay. Just place it in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours to harden.

When it is nice and hard, remove the fudge brick by lifting up on the parchment paper. Cut into desired pieces. *Hint, when cutting, it is best to clean the knife between cuts so that the fudge doesn’t stick to the knife’s edges.

When everything has melted together, pour the fudge into the prepared pan and refrigerate until hardened.

How To Store Fudge

Store the easy fudge pieces in an air tight container at room temperature or in the freezer. However, please note, you do not want to store it the refrigerator.

Fudge dries out when stored in the refrigerator and tends to absorb the flavors of other food products that are stored in the same area.

Remove the fudge from the refrigerator and slice it into desired pieces.

However, it does freeze well. Just be sure to defrost it for a few minutes before biting in!

Enjoy!
