From my favorite Breakfast Bombs recipe, to cooking Chicken Breast In An Air Fryer for my salads or as the main course at dinner, I can guarantee that the air fryer will take center stage for most meals.

It is a great way to cook something quickly, without much hands on effort. In fact, it is my preferred method for cooking Chicken Wings when we go to sit down to watch our favorite football team on the television.

And now, instead of turning on the oven for pizza night, I most often turn to my air fryer to get the job done. Instead of making a homemade pizza, we have gotten creative on what type of pizza recipe to make each week.

Here is a list of some of our favorite pizza inspired recipes. And they all get cooked in the air fryer!

However, when I found myself with extra biscuit dough after making Air Fryer Donuts, I knew that I could use them to make small, individual pizzas. And it couldn’t have been easier!

Although, on my first attempt, it didn’t turn out quite as I expected. I rolled out an entire biscuit and the crust didn’t cook very well.

Be sure to purchase the Grand biscuits or large country style biscuits so that you can split them in half.

In fact, it was still somewhat doughy in the center. Therefore, on my second attempt, I split the dough into two sections and it turned out much better.

The thinner crust was able to be completely cooked through by the time that the cheese melted. However, the crust was still soft enough that it didn’t crumble apart when eaten.

It was the perfect pizza for those who like a standard pizza crust that isn’t too thin or too thick. But the best part about making these air fryer pizzas is that each one can be customized with toppings specific for each individual.

Customize The Pizzas

It is a great way to get the little ones involved with making their own food. Start by rolling out the dough.

Then top each crust with pizza sauce. Now pass the pizza to each individual person so that they can add the toppings of their choice.

Then have an adult place the pizzas in the air fryer for cooking. Once they come out, each person has their own pizza that they designed for themselves!

*Specific measurements and complete recipe instructions are located in a printable recipe card at the bottom of this article. However, be sure to continue to read the tips and tricks to making this recipe below.

INGREDIENTS

  • 1 can Grand Biscuits*
  • 1 cup Pizza Sauce
  • 1/2 pound ground Italian sausage, fully cooked
  • 1 package Pepperoni slices
  • 8 ounces thinly shredded Mozzarella cheese

*Be sure to purchase large, flaky biscuits or Southern style biscuits. This will allow each biscuit to be separated into two halves to make the perfect crust.

INSTRUCTIONS

To make Air Fryer Pizzas using biscuit dough, start by opening the can of biscuits. Then separate each biscuit into a top layer and a bottom layer.

If you have a can of 8 biscuits, you will have 16 mini pizzas. Although the pizzas are snack size, if this makes too many pizzas, use the remaining biscuit dough to make biscuits for the morning.

I will include how to cook biscuits in the air fryer at the bottom of this article.

Keep a close eye on the pizza while it is in the air fryer. It will take most air fryers 4-5 minutes to cook the pizzas.

Now that you have your dough separated, use a rolling pin to roll each layer out into a 4-inch circle.

Top each biscuit crust with 1-2 teaspoons of pizza sauce. Be sure to leave a 1/4 inch crust around the edge so that you have a small outer crust.

Next, sprinkle mozzarella cheese on top of each circle. Then add pepperoni, sausage and any other toppings that you prefer.

Air Frying Cooking Instructions

Spray the air fryer basket with non-stick cooking spray or line it with air fryer parchment paper. Then carefully lower the pizzas into the basket, leaving 1/2 inch – 1 inch space between each one.

Depending on the size of your air fryer basket you may need to cook your pizzas in batches. Air fry at 400°F (200°C) for 4-5 minutes or until golden brown.

The actual cook time will depend on the model of air fryer that you have. Be sure to keep a close eye on the pizzas as they cook.

Using a long spatula, carefully remove the pizzas from the basket. Then place them on a wire cooling rack to prevent the bottom crust from becoming soggy.

Repeat the process with the remaining uncooked pizzas.

It is best to place the pizzas on a cooling rack as soon as they come out of the air fryer. This will help prevent the bottom crust from becoming soggy.

How To Cook Full Size Biscuits In The Air Fryer

  1. Spray the basket of your air fryer with non-stick cooking spray.
  2. Place the full size biscuits in the bottom of the basket, leaving 1 inch between each one.
  3. Air fry at 330°F (165°C) for 8 minutes. *It is important not to preheat your air fryer for this recipe.
  4. Flip the biscuits over and air fry for another 5-6 minutes or until the biscuits are golden brown and cooked through.
