An Easy 15 Minute Meal

So how can this recipe be made in only 15 minutes? The answer is simple, with the use of pre-made ingredients.

The base of the Garlic Toast Pizza comes from a box of frozen Texas toast style garlic bread. Not the cheesy garlic bread, instead use the standard Garlic Texas Toast for this recipe.

You can find various brands of the garlic toast in the freezer section at your grocery store. You can use either a name brand or a generic brand, there is no real taste difference when you add the flavor of the other ingredients.

Then grab a jar of pizza or marinara sauce and a bag of shredded Mozzarella cheese. Now you must decide what toppings, if any, that you want on add on top of your pizzas.

Steps To Making Garlic Toast Pizza

Now that you have your ingredients it is time to make the pizzas.

Step 1:

Bake The Garlic Toast – The first step is to bake the garlic toast in a preheated oven based on the package instructions. However, instead of baking it for the suggested time, take it out 2 minutes early.

For example, if the box instructions tell you to bake the bread for 6-8 minutes, remove the bread between the 4-6 minute mark.

Step 2:

Add The Pizza Sauce & Toppings – Carefully remove the partially baked garlic toast from the oven. Flip the pieces over and then spread on a thin layer of pizza sauce and add the shredded cheese.

Then add any extra pizza toppings that you prefer.

Step 3:

Place The Pizzas Back In The Oven – The final step is to place the mini pizzas back in the oven to finish baking. They are ready to come out of the oven when the cheese melts and begins to turn light golden brown in color in spots.

Suggested Pizza Toppings

Pepperoni: It goes without saying that pepperoni is a classic pizza topping. You can purchase standard pepperoni, turkey pepperoni or even the mini size for this Garlic Toast Pizza recipe.

Sausage: Italian sausage adds a nice depth of flavor to your pizza. To keep things simple and easy purchase a bag of cooked turkey sausage crumbles.

Mushrooms: If you are a mushroom lover add a few slices of mushroom on top. However if you prefer sautéed mushrooms over fresh mushrooms you will want to cook the mushrooms before adding them to the top of your pizza.

Diced Bell Peppers: Diced bell peppers add a pop of color and a bit of flavor to your pizza. Although, because of the short baking time the peppers will remain crisp.

Onions: Thinly sliced red onions will add a sharp flavor to your pizza.

Banana Pepper Rings: If you like pickled banana pepper rings, feel free to add a few slices to your pizza. However, be sure to drain them well so that the pizza doesn’t become soggy.

When To Serve Garlic Toast Pizza

  • Snack – When the kids come home hungry after school or if you are craving something delicious and filling to get you to the next meal, this becomes the perfect snack. You can make one pizza or several to feed however many people that you need to.
  • Lunch – There is no better way to make a quick and easy lunch when time is short or you just don’t feel like spending a lot of time in the kitchen than making this short cut pizza recipe.
  • Dinner – Need dinner on the table quickly? Pull the garlic toast out of the freezer and dinner will be on the table with very little effort. It is one of my favorite dinner recipes to make this recipe a day or two after a big holiday.
  • Appetizer – When it comes to favorite Game Day Appetizers this one comes to the top of the list. However instead of serving whole slices of pizza, I cut each one in 4 pieces for an easy bite size appetizer.

Air Fryer Cooking Instructions

You can also make Garlic Bread Pizza in an air fryer. However, you may need to work in batches depending on the amount that you need to make.

Start by placing frozen pieces of garlic bread in a single layer of the air fryer basket. Then air fry at 350°F for 4 minutes.
