Cheesy Ranch Bean Dip Recipe – Just 4 Ingredients!

This Cheesy Ranch Bean Dip has become one of our favorite Game Day Recipes. With just 4 ingredients, it is super easy to make and is perfect to serve with tortilla chips, vegetable slices or toasted pita chips.

However, I have to be honest. I have never been a fan of refried beans. And the thought of eating them as the main ingredient in a game day dip has always deterred me.

Feel free to add in other ingredients if desired. Here we added a diced jalapeno pepper to add a little heat to our bean dip.

This dislike, or what I thought was a dislike began years ago when I first went to a Mexican restaurant for dinner. I had ordered a chicken burrito and much to surprise, my dinner plate came out much different than I expected.

Not only did I have the largest burrito that I had ever seen, my plate was overflowing with refried beans and Mexican rice. Never being at an authentic Mexican restaurant before, I didn’t realize that almost every dish was served in this manner.

I had never seen rice that wasn’t white or brown in color. And I certainly had never tried beans that were pureed. So I went straight for the burrito and touched nothing else on my plate.

This Cheesy Ranch Bean Dip requires only 4 basic ingredients.

Of course, back then I wouldn’t eat Guacamole either! When I finally had my first taste of both, I had no idea that I was missing out on such greatness! Now I make homemade Guacamole and Instant Pot Refried Beans all the time!

So I decided to expand my game day dip recipes and use the beans in a nacho dip. However, there was one problem.

My husband does not like refried beans at all. So I had to be sure to disguise the ‘bean’ taste with a few spices and of course cheese! Now he eats this easy to make, 4 ingredient dip almost every weekend!

So how do you make this game day dip recipe? It really couldn’t be easier.

First of all, you don’t have to make your own refried beans. Simply purchase a 16 ounce can of traditional refried beans.

mixing dip ingredients
Start with a 15 ounce can of refried beans and mix in 1/2 of a packet of dry Ranch Dressing mix.

Then all you need is a packet of dry ranch dressing mix, sour cream and shredded cheddar cheese.

In a bowl, add the entire can of beans, half of the packet of the ranch dressing mix, and 1 cup of sour cream. Mix until well incorporated.

Pour the bean dip into a small baking dish and top with shredded cheese. Bake at 350°F for 20-30 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and bubbling around the edges.
