Air fryer cinnamon roll bites are a quick and easy treat that can be made in just a few minutes. By using a tube of refrigerator cinnamon rolls you can have the sweet treats on the table in under 10 minutes!
This makes them perfect to serve for a quick breakfast treat or as a snack when the craving hits you for something sweet. But instead of making full size cinnamon rolls that would take longer to cook, each cinnamon roll is cut into 4 smaller portions.
Then they are put into the air fryer to cook and turn golden brown within 6 minutes! However instead of simply icing them with the packet inside the tube of cinnamon rolls, they are coated in a cinnamon sugar mixture.
Then I use that icing packet to make a decadent dipping sauce for serving. The easy to make dipping sauce is the perfect compliment to the crispy texture of the tiny cinnamon rolls.
However, you can skip the dipping sauce all together if you prefer. They are simply delicious (and addicting) even without the sweet icing.
In fact, I always end up with some of the dipping sauce leftover. However instead of wasting it and throwing it away I put it in the refrigerator so I can use it with other items.
It is also a great for dipping sauce for graham crackers, vanilla wafters and cinnamon pita chips. And I am sure that taking a spoonful for a quick sugar burst isn’t out of the question either.
When Should You Serve Cinnamon Roll Bites
Cinnamon roll bites can be served at any time of the day, but they are especially popular for breakfast or brunch. They are perfect for a quick and easy breakfast on the go or for serving at a brunch gathering with family and friends.
If you’re serving them for breakfast or brunch, you can pair them with other breakfast items such as scrambled eggs, bacon, or fresh fruit. They make a great sweet addition to any breakfast buffet.
However, they also make for a great snack or dessert. In under 10 minutes you can have hot little pastries that are ready to serve with coffee, tea, or milk.
Although they can also be served on their own as a sweet and satisfying treat, there is even a better way to serve them as part of a dessert. Instead of dipping them in icing, serve them as a topping for ice cream.
The crispy bite and cinnamon flavor pairs perfectly with cool and refreshing vanilla ice cream. And don’t forget to take the dessert over the top by drizzling caramel or chocolate sauce on top!
It is always a delicious and unexpecged treat that will certainly be a hit with family and friends.
Easy Homemade Dipping Icing
When it comes topping the cinnamon roll bites you may be wondering why not to just use the packet of icing that comes with the rolls. Although that would be delicious, it is somewhat difficult to ice each individual treat.
Instead, you can make a thinner dipping sauce so that you can easily dunk the top of each one in with very little effort. However you will need to amend the icing to make it have more of a dippable consistency.
It is simple and easy to do with just 4 additional ingredients. Although you could technically prepare the icing while the bites are cooking in the air fryer, I prefer to make it prior to putting them in to cook.
This allows me enough time to prepare the icing without worry of checking the air fryer. Then when it is time to serve, I mix the icing and check the consistency for a final time.
Then as soon as you are ready to eat, pour the icing in a small bowl and serve. However, before you get started be sure to gather the ingredients that you will need because the icing comes together quickly.
How To Make The Dipping Sauce
Dipping Icing Ingredients Required
- Cream cheese
- Unsalted butter
- Confectioners sugar
- Packet of icing that came with the cinnamon roll package.
- Milk
Instructions
Be sure that the cream cheese is at room temperature before making the icing. However, in a pinch, you can soften the cream cheese by placing it in the microwave at 30 second increments until it is soft.
Then place the cream cheese and butter in a mixing bowl and mix until it is smooth. Then add the confectioners sugar and the packet of icing that came with the cinnamon rolls.
Continue to mix, adding a little milk at a time until it becomes dipping consistency.
