You can make it as a compliment to breakfast or brunch. Or use this recipe to make a quick and easy snack or dessert whenever you need one.

It is a crowd pleasing recipe regardless of when you serve it. So grab a tube of biscuit dough, your air fryer, and let’s get started making this delicious recipe.

What You Need

Besides an air fryer, you will need the following ingredients to make Air Fryer Biscuit Beignets:

  • 1 can (8-count) large Grand biscuits (any brand will work)
  • 1 tablespoon vegetable oil
  • 1/2 cup confectioner’s sugar

Most likely your air fryer will not be large enough to cook all the beignets in a single layer all at the same time. Therefore, it’s best to cook them in batches to ensure they cook evenly.

It will take a bit more time, but it will allow the dough to cook properly.

A can of biscuit dough is the simple secret to getting this delicious treat on the table in minutes!

Prepare and Shape the Dough

To prepare the biscuit dough, you will need to start by opening the can of eight (8) large Grand biscuits. Carefully remove the tubular dough from the container, separate each biscuit, and place them onto a plate or cutting board.

Next, cut each biscuit into two equal halves; giving you a total of 16 biscuits. Once you have cut each one in half, take each piece of dough and shape it by using your hands.

Either roll the dough into balls or gently stretch the dough into more traditional square or rectangle shapes and set aside.

Preheat the Air Fryer

Next, brush or spray the air fryer basket with vegetable oil to prevent the beignets from sticking. You can also use other types of neutral oils if you prefer.

Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (177°C). If your air fryer does not have a preheat setting, allow it to run at that temperature for about 4 minutes.  This will help to set it to the ideal temperature to ensure the beignets cook properly.

Using an air fryer to make your delicious desserts offers a delicious tasting treat without the lengthy preparation time or the use of excess oil.

For an even easier clean up option, add parchment paper to your air fryer.  Place it at the bottom of the air fryer basket with either a premade air fryer parchment paper liner or tear some off of a parchment paper roll and fit it to your basket accordingly. Just be sure to not preheat the air fryer with the parchment paper inside.

Right before the dough goes into the basket, add the parchment paper and brush or spray the parchment paper with vegetable oil as well. Using both parchment and a bit of oil will ensure that the beignets will be easy to remove from the basket.

Cooking Air Fryer Biscuit Beignets

Once the air fryer is hot and ready, carefully place the biscuit pieces in a single layer inside the air fryer basket. Make sure to leave space between each one. This will give them enough room to expand and reduce any risk of them sticking to each other as they cook.

Depending on the size of your air fryer, the amount of batches you will need to make will vary. Once evenly placed, cook your biscuit beignets for 8 minutes, flipping them halfway through the cooking time to make sure they are all evenly cooked.

However, because air fryer brands cook at different rates, it’s important to check for doneness after about 4-6 minutes to avoid overcooking. You will want to see an even golden brown coloring on the outer surface.

Dust With Sugar and Enjoy!

Once the beignets are cooked through and golden brown use a spatula to carefully remove them from the air fryer. When they are still warm, sprinkle a generous amount of confectioner’s sugar over the top of each one.

Serve immediately while they are still warm and soft.
