Course Main Dish
Cuisine Italian

  • 1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 cloves garlic minced
  • 1 small onion diced
  • 2 cans tomato puree 28 ounce
  • 1 can crushed and peeled San Marzano tomatoes 28 ounce
  • 1 teaspoon dried basil
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • 1 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon fresh ground pepper
  • 2 whole dried bay leaves
  • 1/4 cup red wine
  • 1/4 cup grated Parmesan Romano cheese

  • In a large pot, heat olive oil over medium-low heat. Sauté onion and garlic in heated olive oil until onions are translucent.
  • Add the remaining ingredients (including any meatballs, sausage, or ground meat that you want to add) to pot and bring to a boil, stirring frequently. Reduce heat and simmer for 2 hours.

Serve with your favorite pasta. If you like your pasta sauce a little sweeter, you can add in 1-2 tablespoons of sugar or a couple of diced carrots with the rest of the ingredients.
