Red Velvet Cookie Recipe

A soft and chewy red velvet cookie cooked in cake pan that makes for a delicious treat for any special occasion.


  • 6 tbsp. butter softened
  • 1/2 c. sugar
  • 1/4 c. brown sugar
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
  • 1 c. all-purpose flour
  • 2 Tbsp. unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1/2 tsp. baking powder
  • 1 Tbsp. red food coloring
  • 1/2 tsp. kosher salt
  • 1/2 c. mini white chocolate chips plus more for sprinkling
  • 1/2 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips plus more for sprinkling

Suggested Serving Ingredients

  • Vanilla ice cream
  • Chocolate syrup


  • Preheat oven to 350° and grease a 10” cast-iron skillet with cooking spray.
  • In a large bowl, cream butter and sugars with a hand mixer until light and fluffy.
  • Beat in egg and vanilla.
  • Add flour, cocoa powder, baking powder, food coloring, and salt. Mix until just combined, then fold in chocolate chips.
  • Spread dough into an 8 inch cake pan in an even layer.
  • Top with more chocolate chips and bake 18 to 20 minutes.
  • Serve warm and top with ice cream and chocolate syrup, if desired.


If you are baking regular size cookies, cook on a baking sheet for 9-11 minutes.
