Instant Pot Johnny Marzetti Recipe

A classic beef and macaroni meal made with homemade meat sauce that will makes for the perfect weeknight meal ready to eat in under 30 minutes.

  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1 pound elbow noodles
  • 1 Tablespoon Extra Virgin Olive Oil
  • 1/2 yellow onion diced
  • 1/2 green bell pepper diced
  • 3 cloves garlic minced
  • 28 ounces pureed tomatoes
  • 15 ounces tomato sauce
  • 3 ounces tomato paste
  • 3 teaspoons dried Italian seasoning
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons sea salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground black pepper
  • 1 1/2 Tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 cup dry red wine
  • 2 1/2 cups water
  • Freshly grated Parmesan cheese to taste


  • Press Sauté on your Pressure Cooker.
  • Once the display reads HOT, add the olive oil and ground beef. Cook until mostly brown, and add in the onion, green pepper and garlic. Continue to cook until the meat is no longer pink.
  • Drain excess grease, if needed. Add the remaining ingredients.
  • Lock the lid and place the valve in the SEALING position.
  • Pressure Cook/Manual on High pressure for 5 minutes. When the cooking time expires, allow a 5 minute natural release of pressure, then slowly release any remaining pressure.
  • Stir and top with freshly grated Parmesan cheese.
